BCAA connects artists with volunteer drivers who help transport artwork to exhibitions, events, and venues throughout our community — free of charge.
ABOUT THIS SERVICE
How it works
Our volunteer transport program pairs artists who need help moving their work with community members willing to assist. This is a courtesy service offered by dedicated BCAA volunteers — not a professional fine art shipping service.
To participate, you'll need to complete a short sign-up form and agree to our transport waiver, which outlines your responsibilities as the artist and the scope of our volunteers' care.
ARTIST RESPONSIBILITIES
What you need to do before handoff
Artists are responsible for ensuring their work is properly prepared before it's handed to a volunteer. Please make sure you have:
Wrapped and packaged the artwork to withstand normal vehicle transport
Protected all fragile elements — frames, glass, ceramics — with bubble wrap, foam, or corner protectors
Secured any loose parts or attachments
Labeled the package with your name, artwork title, and contact information
Confirmed the packaging is structurally sound and won't fail under the artwork's own weight
Communicated any special handling instructions to the BCAA volunteer in advance
Please note: Volunteers may refuse transport of artwork that appears improperly packaged or poses a risk to other items or the transport vehicle.
LIABILITY & WAIVER
Understanding the release of liability
By signing up for this service, you agree to release BCAA, its officers, staff, members, and volunteers from any claims related to:
Damage, loss, or destruction of the artwork during transport, loading, or unloading
Damage resulting from insufficient packaging by the artist
Transport delays or delivery timing
Any indirect or consequential losses related to the artwork
You will be asked to sign the full waiver document as part of the sign-up process. Please review it carefully before submitting your request.
